Students recognised for co-curricular achievements

The co-curricular achievements of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app students were celebrated in a special award ceremony yesterday (Thursday 7 December).

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½appx, the University’s co-curricular recognition program, aims to connect students to valuable co-curricular activities that complement what students are learning in their academic studies. These activities aim to develop and improve student’s knowledge, skills and networks.

The formal end-of-year celebration acknowledged the achievements of the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½appx award recipients and thanked the coordinators of co-curricular programs for their significant contribution to the learning, skill development and enhanced employability of thousands of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app students.

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app Outreach, Pathways and Co-Curricular Manager, Kylie Austin, said student engagement increased significantly in 2017 as a result of the efforts of the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½appx team and program coordinators.

“This year, 20 ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½appx awards and more than 800 ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½appx records were received, which is an amazing result,” she said.

“Our celebration event last night demonstrated the depth and experience of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½appx Award recipients, including their personal and professional development, and an outline of the various programs and activities they have participated in during their time at ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app.

“We are so proud of all of these students, and wish them the best for what we know will be amazing futures.”

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½appx Award recipients included three students from regional and metropolital campuses (Shoalhaven, Southern Highlands and Southern Sydney) and 11 international students.
