IT magic moments spreading like wildfire

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app hosts leading higher ed tech conference

There are magic moments in information technology which can lead to major advances in the field.

A conference with its theme of 'The Tipping Point', will reflect such magic moments when innovations in the use of information technology cross a threshold and spread like wildfire.

Hosted by ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app’s Information Management and Technology Services (IMTS), The Higher Education Technology Agenda (THETA) 2019 is regarded as the number one biennial conference in Australasia promoting the intelligent use of IT in higher education and research.

The conference from 19-22 May at the Novotel in ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app, is being run under the direction of the Council of Australasian University Directors of Information Technology (CAUDIT), the Council of Australian University Librarians (CAUL) and the Australasian Council on Open,Distance and e-Learning (ACODE).

Director of IMTS and Conference Chair, Ms Fiona Rankin, said the conference was a tremendous opportunity for ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app staff and higher degree research students to showcase innovations, research and collaborations.

“It could lead the way for new partnerships, networks and strategic opportunities,” she said.

The conference will feature more than 100 presentations and is expected to draw an attendance of more than 700 people from Australia and overseas.
