Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Research Training Program

ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app offers Indigenous PhD scholars the maximum Research Training Program (RTP) stipend rate to undertake a Doctoral or Master of Philosophy degree.

By offering these scholarships ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app aims to attract and retain the best and brightest minds, and support new Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander researchers to gain research experience and qualifications to pursue their chosen career.

Scholarship amount

The stipend scholarship for prospective and current Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students studying a PhD is $53,608 per annum (2026 rate), indexed annually.

Duration

Three and a half (3.5) years full-time (or part-time equivalent) for Doctoral candidates and two (2) years for Master of Philosophy (or part time equivalent).

When completing your application, please nominate on your application form that you are Indigenous.

This scholarship is provided to enrolled ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app Indigenous PhD scholarship recipients.
