The Stevenson Family Scholarship for Social Impact supports higher degree research students conducting research in social work
This scholarship offers financial support to higher degree research students committed to building on evidence-based knowledge which seeks to research, explore, and articulate social work practice and interventions, evaluate social work organisational context and service provision, to advance professional social work education in light of changing contexts, and to understand the impact of legislation and social policy in meeting people’s needs.

Scholarship amount
The scholarship is for up to three and a half (3.5) years full-time with a stipend of $AUD 42,000 pa (tax free and indexed annually per the below schedule, to a total value of $152,500 over duration).
Year 1 - $42,000
Year 2 - $43,000
Year 3 - $45,000
Year 4 - $22,500

Applicants should provide the following:
• A copy of your CV with the names and email addresses for two referees.
• A certified copy of academic transcripts.
• A one page statement outlining relevant experience and expertise.
• A 2-3 page summary of the proposed project, along with an endorsement by the proposed Primary supervisor from within the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app Social Work Discipline.

Eligibility requirements
Applications are invited from:
• Students and alumni (including current Honours students) who will be able to commence a Doctor of Philosophy or Integrated PhD at the University of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app at the start of 2027.
• Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents.
Selection criteria:
• Successful applicants will have completed a Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work (Qualifying).
• Successful applicants may have completed at least two years of practical work experience in the field of Social Work.
Conditions:
• Applicants are expected to commit to full-time study and have the capacity to be based at the ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app/ South Western Sydney campus.
• Applications need to be ready to commence in the next semester (Autumn 2027).
