Overview

The CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support (Release 3) will further develop your skills for practice as a support worker, completing specialised tasks and functions in aged services - either in residential, home or community-based environments. 

The course is offered as a traineeship for people new to industry or seeking to upskill their existing Certificate III qualifications. It is designed for students currently working in aged care roles with organisations who can support them through a traineeship*. 

Trainees typically attend class one day per week while working in the industry. Traineeships take up to 12 months to completed, and students will graduate with a Nationally Recognised Qualification. 

The course will focus on enhancing the skills needed to work in Ageing Support, including medication administration, to prepare students for career advancement to a Team Leader or supervisory role. 

You will be required to study 18 units of competency to successfully complete this qualification. The course structure and units of competency are detailed in the course outline.

Upon successful completion of this course, you may progress to the HLT54121 Diploma of Nursing* with some credits or directly into the first year of the Bachelor of Nursing.
