Overview

The Master of Business Administration (MBA) Advanced is designed to shape responsible, strategic leaders who can navigate complexity, drive innovation and make confident data-informed decisions in rapidly evolving organisations. This advanced course offers you the opportunity to specialise in an area that interests you by completing additional subjects.

The course is grounded in the Principles of Responsible Management Education, ensuring that you will develop the skills you need to lead ethically and sustainably. 

You’ll study key areas such as economics, accounting, marketing, finance, people and culture, artificial intelligence, project management and supply chain management, with the curriculum offering a comprehensive foundation in contemporary business practices.

A distinctive feature of this degree is the capstone consulting project, where you’ll work directly with real-world business clients to solve challenges and apply your knowledge in practical and impactful ways. We prioritise experiential learning and real-world relevance over textbook theory.

The Graduate Certificate in Business Administration and the Graduate Diploma in Business Administration offer flexible, shorter pathways into advanced business learning. They are both ideal qualifications for professionals looking to upskill quickly, strengthen their foundation in leadership and organisational practice, or test the waters before progressing into the MBA Advanced.

If you are interested in studying business, but do not have the specific experience for the MBA Advanced, you can consider studying the Master of Business.

Domestic students have the option to study on campus or via distance delivery mode. Distance refers to learning activities that do not require you to attend campus but instead allow you to join pre-scheduled virtual classes.

A recognised bachelor's degree with an equivalent average mark of at least 50%, plus a minimum of three years of relevant full-time professional or managerial experience, or the part-time equivalent,
OR
A recognised Graduate Diploma or Graduate Certificate with an equivalent average mark of at least 50%, together with a minimum of five years of relevant full-time professional or managerial experience, or the part-time equivalent,
OR
Full membership of a qualifying professional body, together with a minimum of five years of relevant full-time professional or managerial experience, or the part-time equivalent,
OR
For candidates who do not hold tertiary qualifications, the Academic Program Director may accept those with substantial and proven managerial and/or entrepreneurial experience who demonstrate the potential to meet the learning requirements of the MBA. Each case is considered holistically on its individual merits.

Applications must also include a Statement of Motivation (SOM) which should:

  • Address your motivation for studying the Master of Business Administration (Advanced) and how the degree will help you achieve your career goals and aspirations
  • Be no more than one page
  • Written in English
  • Domestic applicants with overseas qualifications

    ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app recognises a range of overseas higher education qualifications. Your qualifications will be assessed for equivalence to Australian qualifications and the admission requirements for this course. Documents issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by an official English translation.

  • English language proficiency

    All ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app courses are taught in English and require varying levels of proficiency. If English is not your first language, you must meet the University’s English Language Requirements, which differ by course.

    Accepted international test results include IELTS, TOEFL, PTE, Cambridge, and OET for specific health-related courses.

  • Workload

    Full-Time Study Load

    As a full-time student, you can expect to commit around 48 hours of study per week. This includes class time and independent study. You may need to factor more time for examination study, practical work and placements.

    Part-Time Study Load

    For part-time students, study hours will vary based on the number of units taken, with similar expectations for class and independent study.

    If you have completed prior studies or relevant professional experience, you can request course credit or subject exemptions to reduce the duration and cost of your program.
