Zero Discrimination Day

Zero Discrimination Day highlights how people can become informed about and promote inclusion, compassion, peace and, above all, a movement for change. Zero Discrimination Day is helping to create a global movement of solidarity to end all forms of discrimination.

Harmony Day/Week

Harmony Day, celebrated across Australia on 21 March, is a time to recognise, respect, and embrace the rich cultural diversity that defines Australia. It’s a day to reflect on the importance of inclusiveness, understanding, and a shared sense of belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background.

Harmony Day also highlights the success of multiculturalism in Australia, celebrating the contributions of migrants and the strength we draw from our diverse communities. As one of the world’s most successful multicultural societies, Australia has much to be proud of and celebrate. Harmony Day invites all Australians to reflect on this success and to actively contribute to maintaining and strengthening it for future generations.

The Cultural Diversity Action Plan (CDAP) addresses the University’s specific, conscious commitment to creating a culturally inclusive university. It outlines the actions ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app will take to build and extend opportunities and initiatives that enrich the lives of students, staff, and the community, and to celebrate the powerful benefits that cultural diversity provides. The CDAP is informed by the principles outlined in the Australian Racial Discrimination Act 1975 and the Australian Human Rights Commissions ‘National Anti-Racism Report’. This document embraces the socially responsible ethos that characterises ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app and reflects other key University equity, diversity and inclusion initiatives and strategies.
