ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app’s new research internship program enables businesses to work directly with highly skilled PhD researchers who bring specialist expertise, advanced problem‑solving capability and fresh, evidence‑based perspectives to industry‑defined projects.

Designed in response to industry demand for job‑ready researchers and stronger university collaboration, the program gives partners a practical pathway to build research capability, explore emerging opportunities and develop future talent. It also supports organisations to translate research into tangible social, environmental, economic and workforce outcomes, aligned to real industry needs and emerging fields.

Research internship success stories

Asmaa Seyam, a PhD candidate, has advanced pre-employment medical testing by developing a digital platform with Sample Assist, improving efficiency and privacy.

APR Intern, Jacqueline (Jacqui) Holliday, is a PhD candidate at University of ÌìÃÀ´«Ã½app. Her interests in learning all the practical lab methods and having the privilege of working with a unique cell line (that she developed experience and familiarity with during her Honours year) sparked her in pursing a PhD in metastatic cancer biology.

As the year draws to a close, I can’t help but feel incredibly appreciative of the journey I’ve taken as a PhD candidate. This year, joining the LIFT program—an initiative by iAccelerate supporting female PhD researchers in STEM—has been a transformative experience, pushing me far beyond my comfort zone.
